Judge Josey-Herring Selected as Next D.C. Superior Court Chief Judge

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has designated Judge Anita Josey-Herring as the next chief Judge of the D.C. Superior Court, succeeding Judge Robert E. Morin, who is retiring in September. Judge Josey-Herring will begin her term on October 1.

Appointed to the bench in November 1997, Judge Josey-Herring has served in the Family, Civil, and Criminal Divisions of the Superior Court. In 2000 she was appointed to serve as deputy presiding judge of the Family Court, and then as its presiding judge from 2006 through 2008. Prior to joining the bench, Judge Josey-Herring served with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
